XX Mostra Intenationale d'arte contemporanea 2010 miniartextil como
25. Sept - 21. Nov. 2010. The Miniartextil international art exhibition, the brainchild of Nazzarena Bortolaso, Paola Re and Mimmo Totaro and organised by them under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Coco of Como’s cultural association "Arte&Arte", has been put on by the art critic Luciano Caramel. This year is the twentieth anniversary of the first exhibition, a truly notable landmark. To mark the occasion the exhibition takes place in ten different places with contributions from many areas of the cultural and creative community, involving also numerous associated events such as conferences, workshops and performances. The common theme is "A day of happiness", loosely inspired by the book of short stories by the Nobel prize winning author Isaac B. Singer." Just as Singer, the child and lead character of the book, the international artists that have enthusiastically embraced the exhibition, have illustrated their own ideas of happiness both in their miniatures and in their large installations. The experience may relate to their contact with nature, harmony with others and with the environment, respect, memories, hopes, the family and affections but also concern art, to music, play, brotherhood and peace. The whole exhibition takes in around a hundred works from forty different Countries. For the twentieth anniversary event there are also on show a selection of miniature textile works that have been exhibited in the past, with a review of some of the best work that have been seen over the years, all in honour of those who have made the exhibition so special over the years. Eine Dokumentation bestehend aus drei Büchern in einem Schuber welches die Ausstellungen miniartextil von 1991 bis 2010 dokumentiert kann an der Ausstellung bezogen werden. In diesen drei Büchern wird die Entwicklung der Textilkunst in den letzten 20 Jahren dokumentiert.
